     Southfork is a renowned Texas legend and landmark that is home to more than 1,400 events each year and we love what we do! Events that Southfork regularly hosts include corporate meetings and retreats, convention events, holiday parties, wedding receptions, seminars, fundraisers, company picnics, trade shows, product introductions, VIP entertaining, rehearsal dinners, school and church functions, training sessions, alumni and family reunions, elegant served dinners, themed extravaganzas, proms, large outdoor concerts and the list truly goes on and on.     It’s Thrills by Day, Chills by Night at Fright Fest

     Presented by SNICKERS®. Six Flags Over Texas will be totally transformed into a Halloween playground, Friday-Sunday, October 3 - November 2. You’ll have a ghoulish good time with our hair-raising shows, electrifying street entertainment, and thrilling haunted houses. Plus, experience all your favorite rides in the dark.

    We’ll also have a special trick-or-treat area just for kids.

  • Historic Fielder House
    January 1, 2008- February 28, 2010

    The Fielder House was built in 1914 by prominent banker James Park Fielder and wife, Mattie. Fielder was an Arlington commissioner and served on the original board of the present UTA.

    This two-story brick prairie-style home was built on a 215-acre site surrounded by live oaks, orchards and gardens. This two-story house was one of the first brick homes in Arlington. Once known as “Home on the Hill,” since April 20, 1980 it has been the home of the Fielder Museum, the Arlington Historical Society and the Arlington Preservation Foundation, with permanent exhibits, such as general store, barber shop and a replica steam train. Arlington's history through the decades is told with photographs and artifacts.

  • John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation
    June 1, 2007- June 30, 2010
    On November 22, 1963, the Texas School Book Depository building was the focus of world shock, grief, and outrage when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dealey Plaza. Twenty-six years later, John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation opened on the building's sixth floor, where significant evidence was found. Using nearly 400 photographs, 45 minutes of documentary films, and artifacts, this exhibition recreates the social and political context of the early 1960s, chronicles the assassination and its aftermath, and recognizes Kennedy's lasting impact on American culture.

    Friday, October 3, 2008: Ballpark After Dark Sleepover at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington:

    One of the most popular overnight programs in the Metroplex, Legends of the Game sleepovers include an evening full of baseball activities. Participants hit and pitch in the Rangers’ batting cages, learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, and proper stretching, and complete a baseball related craft. The evening winds down with a light snack and a baseball movie. In the morning, overnighters are treated to a ballpark tour and a walk around the warning track. The program is designed for children in grades 1-5 and is great for scouts, church youth groups, ball teams, or any group just wanting to get together and have a great time in a great facility! Reservations required by September 19, 2008.

     * Lanes will be assigned on a first come first served basis. We will assign a minimum of 3 guests per lane and bowling will be set up for 15 minutes per person per lane. (1 hour for 4 bowlers, 45 minutes for 3 bowlers). Guests may join the wait list if they wish to bowl again, or stay on the lanes longer if no one is waiting. We will keep the list moving so everyone will have a chance to bowl if they wish. Please call with questions.

    Legends of the Game features the largest collection of baseball-related artifacts outside of Cooperstown! With over 100 items from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the story of baseball's greatest legends is told through their jerseys, bats, gloves, words of wisdom, and more

    The Museum also features outstanding exhibits about Arlington's own "boys of summer," the Texas Rangers.

    Legends of the Game also includes exhibits on: • Heroes of the Negro Leagues • Women in professional baseball • A replica of the KLIF radio broadcast booth • A special section on the early Texas League • Famous ballparks • The Dallas Stars hockey team
