It’s Ragin' Cajun Time at Traders Village! Get ready to party hearty, creole-style, as the 11th Annual Cajun Fest cooks up big fun at Traders Village for two days, Saturday and Sunday, May 17 & 18, 2008.

 Enjoy free toe-tapping Cajun music each day. The band will make you jump out of your seat and you won’t be able to stop your feet from dancing to the crazy Cajun beat. Authentic Cajun foods, featuring traditional Southern Louisiana favorites such as: fried green tomatoes, red beans & rice, gumbo and hundreds of pounds of spicy boiled crawfish.

It’s an event that can’t be missed. Live music, dancing, Cajun foods, and bodacious bargains guarantee there’ll be ‘Big Fun on the Bayou’. Admission is free and parking is only $3. The market is located at 2602 Mayfield Road in Grand Prairie, five miles south of Six Flags Over Texas, just off State Highway 360 near I-20 and is open every weekend. The Fielder House was built in 1914 by prominent banker James Park Fielder and wife, Mattie. Fielder was an Arlington commissioner and served on the original board of the present UTA.

This two-story brick prairie-style home was built on a 215-acre site surrounded by live oaks, orchards and gardens. This two-story house was one of the first brick homes in Arlington. Once known as “Home on the Hill,” since April 20, 1980 it has been the home of the Fielder Museum, the Arlington Historical Society and the Arlington Preservation Foundation, with permanent exhibits, such as general store, barber shop and a replica steam train. Arlington's history through the decades is told with photographs and artifacts.

The 2008 rodeo season is every Friday and Saturday night, April 4th through September 27th. 7. 

 The gates open at 6:30 PM. The Rodeo performance runs from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. .
