Tours of historic Copeland Home, Grand Prairie.

 The City of Grand Prairie with the help of the Grand Prairie Arts Council is offering free tours of the historic Copeland Home to the public on the first Saturday of the month. The home is located at 125 SW Dallas Street and is open from noon to 4 p.m.

The Fielder House was built in 1914 by prominent banker James Park Fielder and wife, Mattie. Fielder was an Arlington commissioner and served on the original board of the present UTA.

This two-story brick prairie-style home was built on a 215-acre site surrounded by live oaks, orchards and gardens. This two-story house was one of the first brick homes in Arlington. Once known as “Home on the Hill,” since April 20, 1980 it has been the home of the Fielder Museum, the Arlington Historical Society and the Arlington Preservation Foundation, with permanent exhibits, such as general store, barber shop and a replica steam train. Arlington's history through the decades is told with photographs and artifacts.

The 2008 rodeo season is every Friday and Saturday night, April 4th through September 27th. 7. 

 The gates open at 6:30 PM. The Rodeo performance runs from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. .
