We are extremely proud to be a three-time winner of the "Facility of the Year" Award from the DFW Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, and of our reputation for creating memorable events with innovative flair and style.

Southfork is a renowned Texas legend and landmark that is home to more than 1,400 events each year and we love what we do! Events that Southfork regularly hosts include corporate meetings and retreats, convention events, holiday parties, wedding receptions, seminars, fundraisers, company picnics, trade shows, product introductions, VIP entertaining, rehearsal dinners, school and church functions, training sessions, alumni and family reunions, elegant served dinners, themed extravaganzas, proms, large outdoor concerts and the list truly goes on and on. The Fielder House was built in 1914 by prominent banker James Park Fielder and wife, Mattie. Fielder was an Arlington commissioner and served on the original board of the present UTA.

This two-story brick prairie-style home was built on a 215-acre site surrounded by live oaks, orchards and gardens. This two-story house was one of the first brick homes in Arlington. Once known as “Home on the Hill,” since April 20, 1980 it has been the home of the Fielder Museum, the Arlington Historical Society and the Arlington Preservation Foundation, with permanent exhibits, such as general store, barber shop and a replica steam train. Arlington's history through the decades is told with photographs and artifacts.

  • John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation
    June 1, 2007- June 30, 2010
On November 22, 1963, the Texas School Book Depository building was the focus of world shock, grief, and outrage when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dealey Plaza. Twenty-six years later, John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation opened on the building's sixth floor, where significant evidence was found. Using nearly 400 photographs, 45 minutes of documentary films, and artifacts, this exhibition recreates the social and political context of the early 1960s, chronicles the assassination and its aftermath, and recognizes Kennedy's lasting impact on American culture.
