A sluice is a series of troughs leading from a water-filled wooden tower. As the water runs through the troughs, bags of mining "rough" are emptied and sifted through screen trays the water washes away the dirt, revealing sparkling gems and minerals or even fossils and arrowheads. It's like panning for gold plus you get to pocket whatever you find! After discovering your gems and minerals, use the identification charts to accurately identify exactly what you have found. Watchtower Challenge Natural Bridge Caverns January 1, 2010- January 31, 2011 Watchtower Challenge Be a part of the adventure at one of the largest public outdoor climbing towers and zip lines in Texas. Named in honor of The Watchtower formation in the North Cavern, this attraction stands 50 feet tall. TEST YOUR CLIMBING SKILLS! The climbing surfaces are built along two sides of the tower allowing four climbers to participate at the same time. The front of the tower is 16 feet wide provides moderate to hard levels of intensity. The side of the climbing tower is 12 feet wide and is easier for first-time climbers.
