Anchored on the east by the city of Dallas and on the west by Fort Worth, the Metroplex offers an entertaining array of Texana featuring everything from modern skyscrapers to old-fashioned cattle yards and essentially everything in between. It is the home to many corporations, almost a dozen professional sports teams, a wide variety of nightlife and a burgeoning arts community.

The Metroplex is also the location of two award winning zoos, a world class aquarium, and several historically significant locations and museums. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is located in the Prairies and Lakes region of Texas. With an estimated 2008 population of 6.3 million, it is the most populated metropolitan area in Texas and the fourth most populous in the United States. 

Dallas, the third largest city in Texas, is in the north central portion of the state. This populous city is home to the Dallas Cowboys and you'll regularly be reminded of the city's mass enthusiasm for the team. A shopper's paradise, Dallas has more shopping centers per capita than any other city in the US.

Dallas is a wonderful place with a great deal to offer and an immense and diverse set of attractions, food and people. From the ultra-modern and posh Uptown and Victory developments, to the old-world elegance and upper-crust attitude of Turtle Creek, to the “real life” feel of largely-suburban North Dallas, it is virtually impossible to neatly categorize Dallas beyond this: it is one of the largest cities in America, and a metro area where more and more people are choosing to work and live every year. With that in mind, you should enjoy visiting Dallas for all the same reasons why others choose to live there.

Fort Worth has a population of approximately 661,000 and is Texas' 5th largest city. Sometimes referred to as Cowtown, it is by far closer to its cowboy roots than neighboring Dallas. Fort Worth grew from a military camp established at the close of the Mexican War by Gen. Winfield Scott, and named for Gen. William Jenkins Worth who fought in the war. Forty-two men of Company F, 2nd Dragoons, established the camp on June 6, 1849. The Fort Worth to Yuma, AZ, stage line was established in 1850. The city became the seat of Tarrant County 1860, and after the Civil War, it became a major shipping and supply depot for cattlemen.
