Sunset Station

Built in 1902, the Souther Pacific Depot, one of the main stops on the famous East-to-West-Coast Sunset Limited Route, connected San Francisco and New Orleans. An impressive edifice, appointments included a stunning 16-foot rose window and dazzling new electric lighting, giving it the name "the building of 1,000 lights". After decades of neglect, Sunset Station, in the downtown Historic St. Paul Square District now serves as the center of a sparkling multi-block renovation. The renewal project showcases offices, galleries, restaurants and nightclubs. A walking tour of the District includes 1916 Steam Engine 794. General info. (210-222-9481).
