America's third longest coast stretches along the Gulf of Mexico for over 360 miles. It offers almost endless beaches, dunes, islands, lagoons, and saltwater marshes. Enjoy spectacular sunsets, beachcombing on the blue green waters of the Gulf, and the mixture of laid back fishing towns, seashore parks, wildlife refuges, and modern cosmopolitan resorts on Padre Island and in Corpus Christi. Padre Island National Seashore, extends 113 miles, 70 miles of white sand beach, and its the world's longest barrier island. Eighty miles of its length are under the protection of the National Park Service. Visited by five species of endangered sea turtles, shorebirds and water fowl, seven species of jellyfish, (only two are harmful), abundant fish, mollusks, mammals, humans have much to enjoy!
